POETRY

Poetry, if I imagine about it. I just want to say “Oh God, what is that” because I am really difficult to understand the meaning of poetry. Although for the first I am terrible for understanding, but Literature and Culture has changed my mind. Step by step, I can say that studying poetry is not boring and difficult like I thought before. I can get many advantages and knowledge after learning poetry, such as I can learn about history another country, learning about poetry can improve my critical thinking, and the important point I get many new vocabularies and it sometime makes me crazy. However, I can find interesting in learning about poetry. Most of them relate with our real life and I feel amazed if the poetry can express about my past experience although the poetry is not made by me.

Poetry is something magic and has many secrets. Why I said like that because even poetry is just group of sentence that arranged in the line and stanza, but it can describe the real situation in our life clearly. Learning poetry does not just learn about how to get the meaning, but also learning about culture and history in the world. Some of them told about many issues such as racism, feminism, gender bias and discrimination. I think sometime we can found them in our life. As the new generation of teacher we have to care about our environment not just focus how to teach our students.

After I learn poetry, I realize that poetry is good place for sharing about my feeling. However I still find difficult to share my feeling in the poetry, may be it needs process.  I need long process to be expert in making a poem, I have to be crazy in Literature and Culture first if I want to be expert, I think enough about my hope. Now I also think that poetry is right way for “galauers” because they express their feeling in Facebook, Twitter, Purk, YM, and another site social. Better if they make a poem, beside the can express their feeling, they also make a creation.

So, I can conclude that learning poetry is not boring and difficult that I thought before. I think if we want to learn about poetry have to be patient and we have to read more about issues, history and important event in the world. The important point that we get after learning poetry is we will be analytic person, critical thinking, and have a lot of information. All of the advantages can support us as the teacher candidate.
